UAE IHC Plans To Establish a Copper Trading Center in Abu Dhabi
Date: Oct 25, 2024
Wenhua Finance According to foreign news on October 24, UAE IHC said that the company plans to establish a copper trading center in Abu Dhabi to expand its business in the field of critical minerals.

IRH is a subsidiary of the UAE International Holding Company IHC. The company said that starting next year, the company's annual copper trading target will exceed 500,000 tons. After acquiring a 51% stake in Zambia's Mopani copper mine for US$1.1 billion, the company said it is looking to expand its copper mining business.

IRH said, "We will establish a copper trading center in Abu Dhabi, with the goal of producing more than 500,000 tons of green copper per year by 2025." The oil-rich UAE and Saudi Arabia have been actively trading to secure key metal supplies in Africa and Latin America, and this move may also help them participate in the transition to green energy.
